Gujrat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd.

Being right near the Race Course means we get to see a lot of people out and about, though most of us are stuck inside the building near Sarder Patel Vidhut Bhaven. Gujrat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. is a big name, but inside it's just a lot of regular people doing their jobs. We handle a lot of the energy stuff for the state, so there is always a sense of being busy with something important. The halls are long and sometimes the elevators take forever, so we end up taking the stairs more often than not. It's an older building with a lot of history in the walls. You can hear the hum of the city from the upper floors. We spend our time looking at charts, managing the grid details, and dealing with various departments. Lunch breaks usually mean a quick walk outside just to get some fresh air away from the screens. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and you can feel it even with the fans going. It isn't always smooth sailing, especially when there are issues with the power lines somewhere far away and the phones start ringing off the hook. We just take it one problem at a time. It's steady work and it keeps the lights on for everyone else, which is a good enough reason to show up every morning. We've been at this location for a long time now and it feels like a second home to most of the staff.
