Modi Medical General Stores

Modi Medical General Stores is a small shop located in Akota, right in the Vallabhakunj Society at number 7. We have been here for a good while, and most of the people who come in are our neighbors from the society. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from bandages to soaps and the usual medicines people need. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock in a small space. You have to watch your step so you don’t bump into a display. I usually stand behind the counter for most of the day. It’s a quiet kind of work, punctuated by people coming in with their prescriptions or just looking for a cold drink. We know which family needs what and who has been feeling under the weather lately. The light in the back flickers a little bit, and we keep meaning to fix it, but there is always something else to do. Being at Vallabhakunj Society 7 feels more like being at home than being at a business. We chat about the local news or the weather while we bag up the items. It’s not a fancy pharmacy with bright neon lights, just a simple store where you can get what you need. We stay open late most nights because people often remember they need something at the last minute. We don't mind, it's just part of the job.
