Shreeji Metal Alloys

The shop is over at Plot No. 534 in the Gidc Estate. We work with metal alloys, which is basically melting down different metals and mixing them. It is a very hot and physically demanding job. The furnace is the center of everything we do. When it’s running, the whole building feels the heat. We wear protective gear, but you still feel the sweat dripping down your back five minutes into the shift. We don't have any polished floors or bright lights. It’s an industrial space meant for heavy work. There are piles of raw materials in one corner and finished castings in another. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the mix to make sure the metal is strong enough. It isn't a place for people who mind getting a bit of soot on their clothes. We’ve been at this Gidc location for years and we know all the other shop owners nearby. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just focus on the heat and the metal. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out quite right and we have to do it over. That’s just part of the process. We start early in the morning before the sun makes the heat even worse. It’s hard work, but there is something satisfying about seeing the molten metal pour into the molds at the end of the day.
