Laxmi Super Stores

Laxmi Super Stores is tucked away in Shukla Nagar, right near the Krishna Complex here in Vadodara. It is a busy little area, and we fit right in with the other shops. I opened this store to provide a place where folks nearby wouldn't have to walk too far for their basic supplies. We carry a variety of items, mostly the things you use in your kitchen every day. I keep the pulses, rice, and cooking oils in the back and the smaller snacks and toiletries up front. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside, but we make it work. I don't have a computer system to track everything; I just keep a notebook and use my eyes to see what’s running low. You might find me sitting on a stool near the door when it’s quiet, just watching the street. When the evening rush hits, it gets a little frantic with everyone wanting their stuff at once. I try to move fast, though my knees aren't what they used to be. People around Shukla Nagar are friendly, and I like hearing about their day while I help them out. We don't have big sales or anything like that. We just keep the prices fair and the shelves as full as we can manage. It’s a decent way to earn a living and help out the community.
