Kalpataru General Stores

You can find us at 9 Alembic Road. It’s a familiar spot for most of the people who live or work around here. We’ve been running this general store for a while, and it’s become a bit of a habit for us now. The shop is filled with all sorts of bits and pieces, from soap to stationery and some food items too. It’s one of those places where you might come in for one thing and end up seeing something else you forgot you needed. Alembic Road is a busy place, and we see a lot of different people coming through. We don’t have a big team, just enough of us to keep things moving. The shelves are usually packed tight because we try to have a little bit of everything. It gets a bit dusty with the traffic outside, so we’re always cleaning. We don’t bother with much decoration. It’s a store meant for buying things, not for looking at. We know our regulars by name and what they usually ask for. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We open up early and close late most days. Sometimes deliveries arrive late and we have to stay even longer to put everything away. That’s just part of the job. We don’t mind it much. It’s a stable place in a changing neighborhood. We've seen a lot of local shops shut down, but we just keep doing what we've always done.
