K J Iron Works

K J Iron Works is located in Sayajigun Subhanpura 415. It’s a noisy place, as you’d probably expect from a workshop like this. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal or the steady hum of the machines running. The floor is usually covered in metal scraps and a bit of dust. We wear heavy boots and old shirts that we don't mind getting dirty. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it and we like it. The air usually smells like iron and machine oil. We don't have a proper office as such, just a corner with a metal desk and a phone that’s covered in fingerprints. We take orders and draw out our sketches on pieces of scrap paper. It’s a very hands-on kind of life for us. We don't have a sales team or anyone in a suit. If you want something made, you just come in and talk to us directly. We’ve been doing this for a long time. The building is a bit drafty in the winter, but it’s good for keeping the fumes out during the day. We work long hours when there’s a big project that needs finishing. Sometimes our hands are stained black by the time we finish. It’s not a clean job, but there's a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished piece of work. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just work with iron and get things built.
