We are based at 201 Somnath Nagar in the Tarsali area. Jay Mataji Medical Agency has been operating from this building for a few years now. It is not a retail shop where you just walk in for a pack of gum. We mostly deal with supplying stocks and handling the agency side of things for the region. Tarsali is growing fast and there are new buildings going up all around us. The dust from the construction often finds its way inside so we are always cleaning the desks. Our space is filled with files and crates. It’s not very organized to look at but we know where every paper is kept. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes the office quite stuffy. We just open the windows and hope for a breeze. There are only four of us working here. We've known each other a long time so we don't need many rules. We just get the orders sorted and sent out. The tea man comes by twice a day and that’s when we take our breaks together. Sometimes we have issues with the transport trucks being late but we manage. It’s just the way the business goes. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. People in the trade know where we are and what we do. It’s a steady routine of checking lists and loading goods. We are just local people trying to make a living in Somnath Nagar.
