You can find Jai Gurukrupa Provision Store right in the heart of Nizampura. It’s been here since before many of the apartment buildings around us were built. The store is filled with big sacks of grain and lentils near the back, and smaller items like biscuits and spices near the front counter. It’s a bit dusty because of the road construction nearby, but we try to wipe down the jars every morning. I usually start the day by cleaning the small lamp in the corner and then opening the wooden doors. My kids help out after school sometimes, though they mostly just eat the snacks.
