Hari Om Super Store

Hari Om Super Store is in Dwarka Puri Society, right on Gotri Road in Vadodara. We are near the Om Housing Society and the Harinagar water tank, which everyone uses as a landmark. It is a decent-sized shop for this area. We call it a super store, but it is really just a larger version of a local grocery. We have aisles where you can walk and pick things yourself, which is a bit different from the smaller shops. The shelves are white and we try to keep them lined up properly with soaps, detergents, and packaged snacks. The floor is white tile and it shows every bit of dirt, so we are always mopping. We have a couple of ceiling fans that stay on all day to keep the air moving. I usually stand near the front by the billing counter. We have a small computer for the bills, but it is slow and sometimes it freezes up. The society people come in throughout the day, especially the ladies in the morning after they finish their housework. It is a friendly place where we talk about the local news or what is happening in the neighborhood. We keep a good stock of frozen things too, in a small freezer near the back. It is a lot of work to keep everything tidy and stocked up. We just take it one day at a time here.
