Gohil Provision Store

Our shop, Gohil Provision Store, is right on the Pune Solapur Road in Hadapsar. Being in Kaliyapura means we see a lot of travelers passing through and plenty of locals who live just behind the main road. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work. We keep the shelves stocked with the basics—flour, oil, soaps, and snacks. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to fit as much as we can on the shelves. Sometimes the crates of vegetables arrive late, and we have to stack them on the floor near the entrance. I’ve been running this place with my brother for a long time. We know most of the faces that come through the door. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually tell them to pay next time. It’s that kind of neighborhood. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. We don't have a computer for billing; we still use a pen and a notebook for most things. It’s faster that way when there’s a line. We open early in the morning before the sun gets too hot and stay open until the last bus goes by. There isn’t much rest, but we like being part of the noise and the life on this road.
