Financial Advisor Self Employed

I work for myself as a financial advisor right here in Baroda. My office is basically my home at 207 Vaikunth Township, which is near the Bapod Jakat Naka on Waghodia Road. Being self-employed means I do not have a boss telling me how to talk to people or what to say. I just tell it like it is. Most of my day is spent sitting at my desk near the window, looking at market trends and checking on client portfolios. The township is a nice place to work because it is quiet enough to concentrate. People come over and we sit in the living room to discuss their retirement or how they can save a bit more for their kids' schooling. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. I do not wear a suit and tie unless I absolutely have to. I've lived in Gujarat all my life and I understand how we think about money here. We like to be careful but we also want to see growth. I try to balance those two things for the people who trust me with their information. Sometimes I get behind on my own filing because I am too busy helping someone else with theirs. That is just part of being a one-person operation. I don't have any fancy mission statements. I just want to help people make sense of their cash flow without making it feel like a chore.
