Dhiraj Sales

Wait, I’ve been at Crawford Market for a long time now. My shop, Dhiraj Sales, is right in the middle of all the noise and people walking by every day. It gets pretty crowded here in Vadodara, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping for their homes. I usually open up early in the morning, around the time the other shops start pulling up their heavy metal shutters. We keep a lot of different things here, mostly stuff people need for their houses or small fix-it projects they are doing. It’s a small space, so things get stacked up pretty high against the walls sometimes. I try to keep it organized, but when it’s busy, it’s hard to find a second to even breathe. People come in asking for all sorts of bits and pieces. Some know exactly what they want, and others just describe a part and I have to figure it out for them. It’s just how it goes here. My family has been doing this kind of work for years, and I eventually just took over and kept the place running. The walls are a bit dusty and the lighting isn't the best, but it works fine for us. Most of the people who stop by are regulars from around the neighborhood. We talk about the weather or how busy the market is getting these days. It’s not a fancy place at all, just a regular shop where we try to help out whoever walks through the door.
