Chauhan Dharamsinh Chhatrasinh

Padra is a busy little town, and my spot is right on G K Marg. It’s a long name for a business, Chauhan Dharamsinh Chhatrasinh, but it’s just my name. People around here usually just call me by my first name anyway. The shop is tucked into a row of other small businesses. We have a lot of foot traffic from the market nearby, so it’s never really quiet. I spend most of my time behind the counter, looking at the street and waiting for the regulars to stop by. The building is old, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what I need. I keep all my records in these big bound books because I never really got the hang of using a computer for everything. It’s a bit slower that way, but I know where everything is. My son comes by after school to help move some of the heavier items, but mostly it is just me. The afternoon heat can be quite something, so I usually keep the front shutters half-closed to stay cool. It’s a simple life on G K Marg. I’ve known most of the other shopkeepers for twenty years. We trade stories and tea while we wait for customers. It’s not a big fancy life, but it’s mine.
