Burhani Hardware & Paints

We are located on the Fatehpura Main Road, very close to the Dhuldhoyawad Masjid. If you are looking for us, we are right across from the Sulemani Bank. It is a very lively part of Fatehpura, and there is always something going on outside our doors. At Burhani Hardware & Paints, the shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things you might need for a house. We have rows of paint cans, and the smell of thinner and metal is always present. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where every bolt and screw is kept. Sometimes we have to use a long ladder to reach the stuff on the top shelves, which can be a bit tricky when the shop is full of people. We see a lot of local painters and contractors who come in first thing in the morning to get their supplies for the day. We also get neighbors who just need a single lightbulb or a small can of touch-up paint. My hands are usually stained with different colors by the time we close up. We don't have a fancy computer system, just a ledger and a pen to keep track of what we sell. The sounds of the prayers from the masjid and the busy street are the soundtrack to our days. It’s a humble place, but it keeps us on our feet and connected to everyone in the neighborhood.
