We are set up right by the Maniar Bus Stand in Ballia, over at Manna Lal Yadav’s place. It’s a busy spot with people always moving around and the buses making a lot of noise throughout the day. We started Maniararun Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited because it seemed like the right thing for us farmers in the area to do. Most days, we are just dealing with the daily grind of crops and weather. It’s not like we have some big fancy headquarters with air conditioning and secretary desks. It’s more of a local operation where people know your name. The post office is right there too, which makes it easier for the paperwork that always seems to pile up. Sometimes the weather in Uttar Pradesh gets so hot you can't even think straight, so we do our main work in the mornings or late evenings. Manna Lal’s spot is easy to find if you are coming into Maniar. We don’t really have a big team of marketing people writing stuff for us, it’s just us here. We try to keep things simple and honest because that’s the only way we know how to work. The farming life isn’t always easy and there are plenty of bad days along with the good ones.
