Jagdeepthakur

Our place is called Jagdeepthakur and we are located in the village of Deoli. This is in the Amb Tehsil of Una district, way up in Himachal Pradesh. My name is Jagdeep and I have lived here all my life. Working in a small village like this is different than working in a big city. Everyone knows my name and they know where to find me. The office is just a simple room in the village center. We don't have a big sign with lights or anything like that. It is just a door where people knock when they need help with something. The air here is fresh and it is usually much cooler than the plains. We handle various tasks depending on what the locals need at the time. Sometimes the internet connection isn't very good because of the mountains, so we have to do things the old-fashioned way with paper and pen. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. We don't have strict rules about what time we leave, as long as the work is finished. Being in a VPO means we are part of the community. We see our customers at the market or the bus stop every day. It is an honest way to live and work. There are no fancy titles here, just neighbors helping neighbors. We have been here for years and we plan to stay right here in 177212.
