We have been here on Unhel Road for a good while now. Sodang is a quiet place mostly, and we fit right in among the fields and the local houses here in Ujjain. It’s not a fancy building but it does the job for the kids who come here every morning. Most of us living nearby know the routine by now. The gates open early and you can hear the chatter starting up before the sun gets too hot. We spend a lot of time just making sure the rooms are tidy and the fans are working because it gets quite warm in the afternoons. Sometimes the road gets a bit dusty when the tractors go by, but that is just how it is in this part of town. People usually find us easily enough because we are right on the main stretch. We don't have a big office with people in suits, just a couple of us sitting near the entrance handling the books and talking to parents when they drop off their children. It’s a simple setup. There are a few trees in the back where it stays a bit cooler during the breaks. We just try to keep things running smooth day to day without too much fuss. If you walk down from the main part of Sodang, you’ll see the sign. It’s seen better days, maybe, but everyone knows where we are. We just focus on the daily work and keeping the place going.
