Praveen Engineering Works

Our workshop is located at Shed No. 2, right near that big railway over bridge on Ujjain Road. If you are driving by, you can usually hear the sound of the trains passing overhead while we are working on the machines. It’s an industrial area, so there is always a bit of soot and noise, but it suits us just fine. We have been in this particular shed for a while now, and it has seen a lot of wear and tear. The floor has oil stains that won't ever come out, and the walls are covered in tools and old calendars. We mostly handle basic engineering repairs and fabrication work for the local guys. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll see people in suits; we are usually covered in grease by noon. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just take a break and sit outside by the road until it comes back on. Dealing with the heat in Ujjain is the hardest part, especially when we are welding. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the old reliable lathes and drills that have worked for years. It’s honest work, and we like being close to the main road because it makes it easier for trucks to drop off materials. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever comes through the door. There is always something that needs fixing or welding, which keeps us busy from morning until sunset.
