It is a lively city with a lot of history and new things being built all the time. Our office is inside an apartment building, which keeps the atmosphere feeling more like a local business than a cold, distant corporation. We work on civil engineering and various construction projects around the local area. Some days are spent entirely on the computer, looking at designs and digital maps. Other days, we are out in the hot sun at a project site checking on progress. The stairs up to the office can be a bit of a workout when we are carrying heavy files or material samples. We have been in Ujjain for a good while and we know the streets and the neighborhoods pretty well by now. We do not have a big flashing sign out front, just the office number on the door. Most of our work comes from people who already know what we do or have worked with us before. We try to stay on top of our schedule, even though things in construction always seem to take a little longer than planned. That is just how it goes. We have a small team where everyone knows their role and just gets on with it. We drink a lot of chai and talk through problems.
