Mehta Tiles

You can find us at House No 1 in Sawariya Parisar. We’re right on Indore Road, not far from the Maha Mritunjya Gate. It’s a busy spot with plenty of cars going past all day. We have a lot of tiles stacked up inside and out. People stop by when they’re building a house or just fixing up a bathroom. We spend a lot of time showing different colors and sizes. It’s funny how some people know exactly what they want while others take hours just to pick one shade of white. We don’t mind. We just keep the shop open and help out where we can. The floor is always covered in a bit of dust because tiles are just like that. We use a small calculator to figure out how many boxes a customer needs based on their room size. Sometimes we have to tell people a certain style is out of stock, which is never fun, but we try to keep the basics ready. It’s just a family-run kind of place. We don’t have fancy displays or salespeople in suits. It’s just us and the tiles. We’ve seen the road outside change a lot over the years, but we stay right here. Most of our day is spent unloading trucks and making sure nothing gets cracked. It’s straightforward work, and it keeps us on our feet from morning until we close up for the night.
