Laxmi Basen Mill

Our mill is at Plot No.160/B in the Madhav Nagar Railway Colony, over in the Freeganj area. It is a fairly quiet spot except for when the trains go past. You can hear them rattling the windows sometimes, but we are so used to it that we don't even look up anymore. We spend our time making besan here. The mill is full of big machines that grind the grain into a fine powder. It is a bit of a dusty environment, and we usually have to wear old clothes because everything gets covered in a yellow tint. We have sacks of stuff stacked up high against the walls. It is a practical setup without any bells or whistles. We just focus on getting the grinding done and the bags weighed out for the day. The people who live around the railway colony often drop by to see us. We have been in Freeganj for a good while, so we feel like part of the neighborhood. The work is repetitive, but there is something nice about the routine. We start early, have our tea together in the morning, and then get the grinders started. We aren't a big industrial giant or anything like that. We are just a small mill in Madhav Nagar trying to do our job. It's a plain life, but it keeps us going and we are happy enough with it. It gets the job done.
