Husaini Travels & Photocopy

Our place is at 26 Kagzi Market, right there in the old Uco Bank building on Kamri Marg. It’s a bit of a mix here at Husaini Travels & Photocopy. One minute I’m trying to figure out a bus route for someone going out of Ujjain, and the next minute I’m fixing a paper jam in the xerox machine. It keeps things interesting, I suppose. The market is always crowded, so there’s never a dull moment. We started out just doing the photocopy work, but then people kept asking about travel help, so we added that in too. The office smells like toner and old paper, which isn't too bad once you get used to it. We don't have a big staff, just me and a helper who comes in during the afternoons. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people are waiting at the counter. The old building has its charms, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. We mostly help the locals with their documents and small travel needs. It’s a practical business, nothing flashy or high-tech. If the power goes out, we just sit on the bench outside until it comes back on. That’s just how life is in this part of Ujjain. We’re here every day except for some Sundays when we need a break from all the paper and the phones.
