Cement Pipes And Poles. Our place is at No. 54 in the Industrial Area on Maxi Road. Being in an industrial zone means we have plenty of space for the big poles, which is good because they take up a lot of room while they are curing. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The road can get pretty bumpy with all the heavy trucks coming in and out, but that’s just the nature of this part of town. We make both pipes and poles, which keeps us pretty busy throughout the week. Usually, we start the mixing first thing in the morning. It’s a loud process with the machines going, but we’ve got a system that works for us. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around; we just want to make sure the stuff we build doesn't fall apart when it's put in the ground. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, which really slows us down, but we just sit and have some tea until it comes back on. My son helps with the paperwork and talking to the drivers. We don’t do any fancy ads. People find us because they need something sturdy for their land or for a project on the road. It’s a lot of lifting and moving, and by the end of the day, we’re all pretty tired. But it’s a living, and it feels good to see the trucks loaded up and headed out.
