You can find us at Shop No. 34 in the Madarges area of Ujjen. Specifically, we are over by Dhoak Jan Chorayan. It is a very busy spot with lots of small shops packed tightly together. Our place, Aleem Kenchi Centre, is known for anything to do with scissors and cutting tools. The sound of metal grinding on stone is something you hear all day long if you stand near our door. We have all sorts of blades and shears hanging on the walls. Some are for tailors, some for barbers, and some for just everyday use at home. The shop is small, so we have to be very organized with how we display things. There is usually a pile of items near the front that people have dropped off to be sharpened. We spend hours hunched over the wheels, making sure the edges are right. Our hands are usually stained with oil and metal filings. It is a specialized trade that not many people do the old way anymore. People come from different parts of Ujjen because they know we have been here at this location for a long time. It is not a fancy place to look at, just a counter and a lot of tools, but it serves the purpose. We open up in the morning when the market gets going and stay until the crowds start to thin out in the evening.
