If you head toward the Brahmasthana area in Padubidri, you will find our lab sitting nearby. It is a quiet spot, which is actually pretty good for the kind of work we do here with tissue culture. We spend most of our hours looking at small starts and making sure the conditions are exactly right for them to grow. It is a bit technical and slow, but at the end of the day, we are just regular people working with plants. The lab itself is not huge, but we have enough space for all the equipment we need to use. Sometimes the weather in Padubidri gets incredibly humid, so we have to keep a very close eye on the internal temperature. I grew up not too far from this area, so setting up the biotech center in this spot made a lot of sense to me. We are not some big city corporation with a hundred different layers of management. It is mostly just us in our lab coats, focusing on the trays and the growth cycles. We have a daily routine that starts early in the morning when it is still relatively cool outside. People around here know us as the plant folks who work near the temple. We do not have a flashy storefront or anything to show off. Most of our day is spent quietly working with the samples. It is honest work, even if it involves a lot of microscopes and sterile rooms.
