Makilam Farmer Producer Company Limited

We run things from our spot at 447/3A Kolumam Main Road. It’s right there in Perumalpudursamarayapatti, which is a bit of a mouthful to say if you aren't from around here. Most of us are just local farmers who have lived in the Madathukulam area for as long as we can remember. We decided to put this company together so we could handle our crops as a group instead of everyone doing their own thing. It’s a lot more work than we thought, but it’s better this way. Udumalpet is a busy place, but our village stays pretty quiet for the most part. The office isn't much to look at, just some chairs and a desk where we keep our papers. We spend most of our time out in the fields anyway. When the harvest comes, things get really hectic around here. We have to coordinate all the tractors and the people. Sometimes the rain messes up our plans, but that’s just how farming goes. We sit around and drink tea while we figure out what to do next. We don't have any fancy business degrees. We just know what works for our land. If you're driving down the main road, you'll see our sign. It’s a simple life, but it’s ours. We just keep our heads down and try to get the work done before the sun goes down every day. We are glad to be part of this community.
