We are located out on Kashipur Road. Shri Ram Solvent Extractions Pvt. Ltd. is the full name, but most people just know us by the location. It’s a large facility because the work we do needs a lot of space. We deal with solvent extraction, which basically means we pull oils out of seeds or other materials. It involves a lot of big tanks and pipes. The air around the plant has a specific smell to it that you never really forget. We have a lot of trucks coming in and out with raw materials. The yard can get quite muddy when it rains. We have a small team in the office to handle the logistics and a bigger crew out in the plant. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. Most of us are in work clothes that can get dirty. We don’t have a fancy lobby for visitors. If someone comes to see us, we usually just meet them in the main work area or the small break room. It’s a technical process but we’ve been doing it long enough that it’s just routine now. We focus on getting the extraction right. We don’t spend much time on things that don’t help the production. It’s a heavy industrial environment. We just keep our heads down and make sure the machines are running as they should be every single day.
