Rainbow Academy

Living and working near Bareilly Road in Haldwani means you get used to a lot of noise from the traffic. Rainbow Academy is located over in Ganga Vihar Gaujajali, right near the Teen Pani area. It is a busy spot but once you get inside the gates, things settle down a bit. We spend our mornings getting the classrooms ready before the sun gets too high. Haldwani has that nice mountain air sometimes, but during the summer it gets just as hot as anywhere else. We have a small staff here and most of us have been around for quite a while. We know which kids are likely to be late and which ones will be waiting at the gate before we even arrive. The school isn't huge, just a few rooms and a bit of space for the kids to run around during their breaks. We spend a lot of time talking to parents who stop by on their way to work. It’s a very local kind of place. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything like that. It’s just us trying to keep the place running and making sure the kids learn what they need to. Sometimes the rain here in Uttarakhand can be really heavy and we have to watch out for leaks in the roof. We just fix what we can and keep going. It’s a lot of daily chores and small tasks that fill up our hours.
