Omkar Rice Industris

Omkar Rice Industris is located in Nanakmatta, which is near Sittarganj. Our facility is where we spend the bulk of our lives. It’s a pretty large area, and we have various sections for different parts of the rice processing. The machines we use are older, so they need a lot of oiling and fixing to keep them running smoothly. We aren't some big corporation with a fancy headquarters; we are just a local industry in Nanakmatta. The air here usually smells like toasted grain. We have a lot of workers who come in from the nearby villages to help with the bagging and loading. It’s a busy atmosphere, especially when the trucks are lined up outside the gate. We try to keep a rhythm to the work, but things often go wrong, like a belt snapping or a fuse blowing. When that happens, everything stops until we can get it fixed. We don't have a lot of time for breaks. We usually just eat our lunch sitting on some sacks in the shade. Being near Sittarganj is useful because we can get to the markets easily. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just focus on the rice and making sure it gets processed correctly. It’s hard, dusty work, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and get through the day's tasks.
