Aggarwals Foods India is based in Shimla Pistour, which is part of the Kichha tehsil in U. S. Nagar. We work out of a fairly large facility where we handle different types of food products and grains. The smell of the grain or whatever spices we are handling is usually quite strong depending on what we are processing that particular day. It’s a rural area, so we are surrounded by open fields and see farmers coming by with their tractor trolleys quite often. We have a lot of bags stacked up high in the warehouse, and we spend a good part of the day counting our inventory and checking the quality of what comes in from the fields. The floor is usually covered in a fine dust from the grains, no matter how much we sweep. We use a lot of manual labor for the packing and moving of bags because that’s just how we’ve always done things here. Sometimes the trucks get delayed because of the heavy rain or the bad condition of the back roads, which messes up our whole loading schedule. Our office is very simple, just a place to keep the big ledgers and answer the phone when customers call from the bigger cities. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that; it’s mostly just us and the workers getting the bags ready for transport. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot, but we keep things moving as best as we can.
