Jaspur Rice Mill

You can find Jaspur Rice Mill in Jaspur village, right near the Nagar Palika on Kashipur Road. We’ve been in this part of Udham Singh Nagar for quite a long time now. The mill itself is a big, solid building that’s seen a lot of action over the years. Inside, it’s all about the machinery and the grain. We don't have any fancy offices or a place to sit and have tea; we’re mostly out on the floor working. The sound of the milling is quite loud, so you have to shout to be heard sometimes. We handle the rice for the local farmers who bring their paddy in by the cartload. During the harvest season, the place is a hive of activity from early morning until late at night. We just keep the machines running as long as there is grain to process. It’s a lot of dust and hard work, but we’re used to it. We don't have any interest in marketing ourselves or sounding like a big corporation. We are just a local mill that people in Jaspur know and use. The sheds stay full of bags, and there’s always a truck being loaded or unloaded. We focus on the basics of husking and sorting. It’s a simple routine, and we don’t try to make it sound like anything else. We just do our job and keep the mill going as best as we can.
