Bhameswari Rice Mill

Bhameswari Rice Mill is situated in Bazpur, right near the railway station. Being so close to the tracks means we hear the trains passing by all day and night. It’s a noisy spot, but it’s convenient for transport. We’ve been here in Udham Singh Nagar for a long time. The mill is a busy place, especially when the grain starts coming in from the nearby farms. We spend our hours watching the machines and making sure everything is running right. There’s plenty of dust and the smell of raw rice is always in the air. We don’t have a fancy front desk or a waiting room for guests. If you come by, you’ll likely find us on the floor or near the loading area. The yard gets pretty messy when it rains, but we just keep working through it. Our workers are mostly from the local area, people who know the trade. We don’t do any big advertising or try to sound more important than we are. It’s just a rice mill doing its job. We focus on the work at hand and getting the bags loaded onto the trucks. Some days are longer than others, especially during peak season. We just keep the motors going and try to stay on top of the schedule. It's a simple, hardworking life here by the railway station. We don't ask for much more than a good harvest.
