Zaara Marbles

We have been operating out of Sukher on NH 8 for quite some time now, situated right where Puneet Marbles is. It’s a busy spot and the traffic never really stops moving. My mornings usually start with checking the stock we have in the yard. It gets very dusty out here, especially when the wind picks up from the highway, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a lot of stone and some guys helping to move it around. Sometimes customers come in and spend hours looking at different slabs. We just let them take their time because choosing the right piece for a floor is a big deal for people. The stones come in all different sizes and some have veins that look better than others. My hands are always rough from the work and the water we use to keep the dust down. We share the space, so it can get a bit cramped when two trucks are trying to load at once. We just figure it out as we go. There is no big corporate office here, just a small desk and some chairs where we sit and have tea while waiting for the next order. It’s a simple way to make a living and we’ve gotten used to the noise of the trucks passing by at all hours of the night.
