Vinayak Marbles

Vinayak Marbles is tucked away near Mudhusudhar on the N.H.Z stretch. It is one of those places you might miss if you are driving too fast, but we have a big enough sign out front. Most days, it is just the sound of the wind and the occasional truck pulling in. I’ve been working with marble since I was a young man, and not much has changed in the way we handle the slabs. You still need strong backs and a bit of patience. We keep our stock out in the open so the light hits it naturally. Some people say the highway location is too far out, but I like the space we have here. We don’t have to worry about being cramped like the shops in the middle of town. There is usually a stray dog or two hanging around the yard looking for shade under the big slabs. We don't mind them much. When a customer comes in, we don't give them a long speech. We just show them what we have on the racks and let them decide. It’s better that way. No one wants to be talked into something they don’t like. The stone speaks for itself anyway. If we have it, we sell it. If we don’t, we tell you who might. That is just how we do things around here, day after day.
