We’re out in Village-tanwan, right on the Amet-kelwa Road. It’s in the Rajsamand district, so it’s a bit of a drive from the bigger cities. Being in a village means things are a little slower and quieter here, which we actually like. Ganesh Exim is run right from this spot. We deal mostly with local materials and getting them out to where they need to go. The office is basically just a room attached to our storage area. It’s practical. We have some sturdy furniture and a computer that’s seen better days. A lot of our work involves talking to local suppliers and laborers around the Teh-amet area. We spend a lot of time outdoors or in the warehouse checking the goods. It can get quite hot here in the summer, so the fans are always running. We don’t have any corporate protocols or big slogans. We just know the trade and we know the people we work with. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even if not everyone is related. We eat lunch together and discuss what needs to be shipped out by the end of the week. There’s always some red tape with transport and taxes, but we handle it. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the land around here. We’ve been in this village for a long time and don’t plan on moving. It’s a good way to live and work.
