Tara Marble

You can find Tara Marble up in Sukher, right on National Highway No. 8. We are very close to the Ekling Nath Petrol Pump, so that is usually how people find us when they are driving by. Being on the highway means we get a lot of dust from the big trucks zooming past all day long. It is a noisy spot, but it is convenient for getting our own marble shipments in and out. The yard here is pretty large because we need the space to spread out the stones so people can see the patterns. Marble looks different depending on the light, so we prefer showing it outside. The sun in Sukher can be really strong, which makes the white stone almost blinding sometimes. We have a small shed where we keep the more delicate pieces and where we sit to have our lunch. It is a family-type of vibe here, even if we aren't all related. We know the guys at the petrol pump pretty well since we go over there for snacks or to fill up the tractor. Working on Highway 8 means you meet people from all over who are just passing through. We don't use any fancy sales tricks. We just show what we have on the ground and let the stone speak for itself. It is a lot of heavy lifting and sweating, but that is just how the marble business is.
