Ajay Marbles

We have been running Ajay Marbles for a long time now. Our place is right on N.H. 8, just a bit past the Bank of Baroda in the Sukher Industrial Area. It gets pretty dusty out here with all the stone cutting going on, but that is just how it is in this business. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard checking on the slabs and making sure everything is where it should be. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. We have some heavy machines and a small group of guys who know how to handle the stone without breaking it. Sometimes people stop by because they saw our sign from the highway. We show them what we have in stock. It is heavy work. Moving these blocks takes a lot of patience and a steady hand on the crane. My father started this and now we just keep it going. We don't really do much advertising because people around here know where we are. If you are driving down the main road, you can't miss us. We just try to keep the quality decent and make sure the orders get loaded onto the trucks on time. It is a simple life, mostly just dealing with rock and dust every day, but it keeps us busy. The chai guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break.
