Our yard is located right on N. H. 8 in Amberi. Being on the national highway means we see a lot of people passing through. It is a convenient spot for the big trailers to pull in and out without getting stuck in narrow city streets. We spend most of our daylight hours outside among the stacks of marble. Amberi has become a real hub for this kind of work. The noise of the highway is always in the background, a constant hum of tires and engines. We don't have a polished office with fancy furniture. Most of our meetings happen right there on the gravel near the slabs. We look at the grains and the colors together with whoever walks in. Sometimes it is a contractor from far away, and sometimes it is a local builder. We have been here at this location for years, and we have seen the highway change from a two-lane road to what it is now. The dust is a constant companion, but you get used to it after the first week. We just focus on keeping the inventory moving. When the monsoon hits, the yard gets muddy, and everything becomes a bit more difficult, but we still manage to get the loading done. It is just basic, honest work. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just supply stone from our spot in Amberi and deal with the challenges.
