Shri Dhaneshwar Stone

We are located at B 16 Haridas Ji Ki Magri, right near Mahala Talie. Being close to the water means the air feels a bit different than the center of town. Our work at Shri Dhaneshwar Stone is mostly about heavy lifting and sorting through slabs. It’s a gritty job, and our hands are always covered in stone dust. The yard is usually full of different types of stone that we get delivered on big trucks. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time getting into Mahala Talie because the roads can be narrow or blocked by something. We spend our days measuring things and moving heavy pieces from one side of the lot to the other. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. My boots are usually white from the marble or granite dust by noon. We don’t have a big office or anything; it’s mostly just the outdoor space where the material sits. We talk to people who are building houses or fixing up their floors. It’s a practical business. We don't use big words or fancy talk. If someone needs stone, they come here, look at what we have in the stacks, and we figure it out. The sun can be quite harsh out here on the Magri, but we have a small shaded area where we sit during breaks to drink some tea and relax for a few minutes before starting again. The rocks don't move themselves.
