About Shree Suraj Marbles – Building & Construction Material in Udaipur
We are right on the Sukher Nh-8, not too far from Mahadev Marbles. If you know this area, you know it is mostly just stone and dust. My clothes are always white by the end of the day from the marble slurry. It’s a loud place because of the cutters and the big trucks driving past on the highway. We spend our mornings checking the slabs that come in from the quarries. Some are good, some have cracks, and we have to sort through them all. It’s heavy work and my back usually hurts by Tuesday. We have a small shed where we keep the records, but mostly we are out in the yard. The sun gets really hot in Rajasthan, so we drink a lot of water and try to find shade under the crane. It isn’t a fancy business. We just sell stone to people who need it for their houses or projects. Sometimes the buyers are picky and want to look at every single slab in the stack. We move them around with the old forklift we have. It’s noisy and greasy but it gets the job done. Being near Mahadev Marbles helps people find us, I guess. The NH-8 is always busy, so there is never any peace and quiet. We just keep our heads down and keep working until the sun goes down. It is a simple life for us out here.
