Shree Shyam Granite

You can find Shree Shyam Granite over at 38, Shiv Nagar in Gariyawas. We have a small yard where we keep all the granite slabs. It is tucked away in the neighborhood. It is usually quiet until we start moving the heavy stones around. We have been here for a while. The locals know us as the place with all the rocks out front. Working with granite is tough on the hands and the back. We spend most of our time measuring pieces and trying to show people how the colors look in the natural light. It is a lot of physical labor. Lifting and bracing the slabs so they do not crack takes a lot of care. We do not have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It is just an open space with the stone. Some days are slower than others. We usually have something to do, like tidying up the offcuts or washing down the dust. Gariyawas is a decent place to be based. The neighbors are used to the sound of the crane occasionally. We do not have a big staff. It is just a couple of us who know how to handle the materials. When someone comes by, we just show them what is in stock and talk about the thickness. It is a practical business. We are not trying to be anything we are not. We just sell stone from our spot in Shiv Nagar. It is a messy job, but someone has to do it. We enjoy seeing the finished kitchens later.
