Our spot is located right on the N. H. 8 in the Amberi area. Being right on the highway means we see a lot of different people passing through every single day. Satvik Marble Pvt. Ltd. has been sitting on this particular stretch of the road for quite a while now. The location is helpful because it makes it easy for the big transport trucks to pull in and out without having to deal with the tight city streets. We spend most of our time out in the sun, looking over the marble blocks and checking for any flaws. The noise from the highway traffic is something you just stop noticing after you have worked here for a few weeks. It is just a constant background hum of trucks and cars going by. We are not trying to be the biggest or the most famous stone yard around. We just want to make sure the stone we have in the yard is what people are looking for. Dealing with marble is a bit tricky because every single piece is slightly different from the next one. We show the slabs exactly as they are, with no fancy lighting or tricks. Amberi is a good spot for this trade because we have enough room to spread things out so people can really see the patterns in the stone. It is manual labor, but we are used to the routine by now.
