You can find us in Premgarh, Amberi, which is in the Udaipur district. This is where Sarla Marbles operates from. The location is pretty convenient because it’s right in the middle of the marble belt. We have a lot of space here to keep our inventory, which is mostly different grades of marble. The work involves a lot of waiting for trucks and then a lot of rushing to get them loaded or unloaded. It’s a dusty environment, and the sound of the saws is something you just get used to after a week. Our office is just a simple room with a fan and some old ledgers. We don’t bother with much decoration because the marble is the main thing people come to see anyway. Some days are slow, and we just sit around and drink tea, and other days it’s complete chaos with three trucks trying to get into the yard at once. The people working here have been with us for a while, and they know how to handle the slabs without causing any damage. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to get through the day’s orders. Udaipur has a lot of competition, so we just focus on what’s in front of us.
