Sagar Marble Industries

We are down on the Sukher-Bedla Link Road. It’s a pretty busy spot with all the trucks going back and forth every day. Sagar Marble Industries has been here quite a while now. My father started things off and now a few of us keep the place running. It’s mostly just a yard with lots of stone slabs sitting around under the sun. We spend most of our mornings moving things with the crane or talking to drivers who come in from the quarries. The dust gets everywhere, especially when the wind picks up off the road, but that is just how it is working with marble. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. There is just a small room where we sit and have tea when it gets too hot to stay outside. People stop by sometimes just to look at what we have in stock. We show them the different blocks and slabs. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the stacks, and other days it’s a mess with everyone trying to load up at once. It’s a simple life here. We know the neighbors and the other shop owners around this part of Sukher. There isn't much to it besides the hard work and making sure the stone doesn't crack while we move it. If you are driving down the link road, you can't really miss us. We are just another one of the yards doing our thing day in and day out.
