Royal Handicrafts

The shop is right here at 356, Main Road. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. It’s a busy street, so there is always noise from the traffic outside, but inside it’s mostly just us working with the wood and metal pieces. You’ll see plenty of stuff piled up because we don’t have a huge storage area. It gets a bit dusty sometimes. People usually find us when they are walking down the road looking for something small for their homes. Most of the things here are handmade by people we know. We don’t really do fancy displays. If you come in, you might have to move a chair or two just to get to the back where the smaller carvings are kept. It’s not a big showroom. We just keep the lights on and wait for someone to walk in. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a break. It's just a regular place. We spend a lot of time checking the finishes on the wood. My father started this a long time ago and now I’m here most days. The fans hum all afternoon. We try to keep things organized but with all the different crafts, it's hard. Some days it’s quiet, other days it’s crowded with people asking about the prices. We don't have a big sign, just the name above the door. It’s simple and it works for us every day.
