Royal Arts & Crafts sits at Plot No. 42 in Dewali, right near Fateh Sagar Lake. It’s a beautiful part of the city, especially with Jaisamand Lake not too far off either. Our shop is where we keep all the different pieces we’ve been working on. It’s not a sterile gallery or a high-end mall store. It’s more of a workshop where things are actually made. You’ll see bits of wood, fabric, or paint scattered around depending on what is being created that week. The air usually smells like whatever materials we are using at the time. Being near the lake means we get a nice breeze sometimes, which helps when it’s hot outside. We don't have a marketing department or anyone writing fancy slogans for us. We just make things and put them on the shelves. People wander in after walking by the water, and we just let them look around at their own pace. There is no pressure to buy anything. We are just happy to be doing what we do in such a nice location. The shop has its quirks, like a door that sticks when it rains and floors that aren't perfectly level, but it has character. We spend most of our time at the back where the light is better for detail work. It’s a slow-paced life compared to the city center, and that suits us just fine. We just take things as they come and keep making our crafts.
