Up at St 1 in Sukher Udyog Vihar, things stay pretty busy with all the marble. Rose Marble Ltd is right there in the heart of the industrial area. If you’ve ever been to Sukher, you know how it is. There is white dust on almost everything, from the leaves on the trees to the tops of the trucks. We deal with heavy stone every single day. It’s hard work and it’s loud. You can hear the saws cutting through the blocks from down the street. Our office is a small room off to the side where we keep the ledgers and talk to customers. It’s simple and functional, with marble samples leaning against the walls. We don't bother with fancy displays because the stone speaks for itself. People come from all over to look at the slabs. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard, showing folks the different patterns and colors in the rock. It’s a dirty job, and by the end of the day, we’re usually covered in a thin layer of grit. But there’s a good feeling in seeing a beautiful piece of marble head out on a truck to someone’s new home. We’ve been at this spot for a while and we know the business inside and out. It’s just how life is here in the Udyog Vihar.
