Reshma Marbles

Reshma Marbles is tucked away behind the Vandana Weigh Bridge in Sukher. Being behind the weighbridge makes it a little quieter than being right on the edge of the highway, but the heavy trucks are still a constant presence. They come to get weighed, and we’re just a short distance from there. Our yard isn’t the easiest to see from the main road, but once people find us, they see we have plenty of stone to look through. We spend our days mostly outdoors, moving slabs and checking the inventory. It’s physical work that keeps you tired, but we’re used to it. The area around the weighbridge is always busy with drivers and workers, so there’s a real community feel among the local businesses here. We don’t have a big marketing department or glossy catalogs. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come to the yard and walk around the stacks. Sometimes we have to move twenty slabs just to get to the one someone wants to see, but that’s just part of the job. We keep a small office for the paperwork, but most of the real work happens out in the sun. It’s a straightforward way of life. We focus on the marble we have and make sure the customers get exactly what they picked out from the pile. It’s honest work in a dusty part of town that we know very well.
