Ravi Marble

Sukher is a well-known area for stone, and we are right in the middle of it on N.H.8. If you look around this part of the highway, you’ll see plenty of yards, but we just focus on our own space here. We have piles of marble slabs that we’ve brought in, and they sit out in the open air. The weather here can be tough on the workers, especially in the summer months when the stone gets hot to the touch. We spend our hours walking through the rows, checking for cracks or just making sure everything is where it should be. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. There is a lot of heavy lifting and moving things with the crane or by hand when necessary. We see a lot of different people coming through Sukher. Some are just passing by and get curious about the marble. We show them what’s available without making a big fuss about it. The slabs have their own natural lines and colors, so they really speak for themselves anyway. We try to keep the yard accessible so it’s not too much of a mess. It’s a lot of work to keep a marble business running day after day, but we are used to the routine of it now. We just stay busy and keep the stone moving.
