Raj Tilak Misthan

Raj Tilak Misthan is situated right at Delhi Gate, specifically in Teej Ka Chowk at number 1. Being at Delhi Gate means we are in one of the older, more crowded parts of the city. There is always a lot of history around here, and the chowk is usually full of people and cows and scooters moving in every direction. Our shop is right there in the thick of it. We make a variety of traditional sweets, and we have been doing it the same way for years. The building is old, and the space inside is quite narrow, but we make it work. Most of our day is spent watching the crowd in the chowk while we serve customers. It gets very loud with the horns and people talking, but that is the charm of Delhi Gate. We do not have a website or any of that stuff; people just know where we are because we have been here so long. Sometimes we run out of things early in the day because a big group comes through. We just do our work, clean up at night, and start again the next morning. It is a simple life running a sweet shop in such a busy area. You meet all kinds of people here, from tourists lost in the lanes to locals who have lived here for eighty years. It is a fast-paced environment but we have gotten used to the noise and the crowds.
